2016 Teach Na nDaoine Family Resource Centre
Now that the Seasonal Festivities are over, we in Teach Na nDaoine FRC are preparing for the next year’s events. We will have a wide and varied calendar of events starting this week that will be of interest to all ages.
This being the Centenary year of the Easter Rising, it may be of particular interest to all that we are having a course on Irish History.
It is intended to hold a course on the German Language and to lighten the activities, Bingo will continue in the centre every Sunday night. It is hoped to commence Pilates next week.
Weightwatchers have indicated that they will be having meetings in the near future where at each meeting there is a discussion guided by your Leader, with a new topic every time. One week, the topic might be strategies for curbing stress eating, and the next week might centre on favourite foods and recipes. You’ll pick up great tips from the group and contribute your own—or just listen. This combined with the insights of the Leader and the individuals within the group make each meeting unique. After your first meeting, you’ll stay for a brief getting started session. The Leader explains what to expect and how to follow the food plans, and will give you a chance to ask additional questions.
We will also be facilitating an Alternative medicine clinic operated by Alice O’Neill who practices, Reiki, Reflexology and Massage therapy in the pleasant surroundings of our centre.
In addition, our traditional activities such as Whist, Arts and Crafts, Painting and Computer Training from our tutor Pamela McGonnell as well as other Computer training performed by tutors from the ETB.
